something I have notice why in the usa they ar 4 games in a match and the rest of the world only 2?

We see 4-game rounds beng played less and less at US Nationals today, but the thinking at the time was that it may take 4 games to determine who is the better player, especially if they draw an "easy opening" for the first 3-move ballot.
