How does a player on top of the ranking receive a bye?

I just hope it does not inflict the tie-breaker too much....

Looks like Alex and Joe (!) are undefeated.

Great performance by Joe to draw Alex after beating Lubabalo. Looks like we have a favorite to win the cup now ;-)

And a bad day for Suki, losing to Jim and Lubabalo.

However, I admire his schedule. First the WCM match against Sergio, then winning the British Open en passant on his way to the US nationals.

He is the marathon man of modern checkers!

I assume the byes are given out to everyone in random order, rather than to lowest-point person, had we been doing Swiss

Because it is a round robin the first 11 rounds, the BYE's goes to whoever was scheduled to play Alex Holmes, who withdrew from the tournament. Since his first two opponents beat him and got 4 points and everyone who gets a BYE receives 4 points, it will even out and be fair for everyone, until the last round.

Sorry, Joe. I just forgot that it was Round Robin. That explains the byes and why Ron and Lubabalo were paired against each other already in first round.

Good idea to make it a Round Robin.

Sorry for the delay in posting the results folks. We will have them posted Saturday, tomorrow, including the final majors results. Also, I apologize for only having one game broadcasted today. Unfortunately, the Ustream site kept freezing up on me. I will try to get it working tomorrow.

Playing another round after a round robin system should be wrong.

I believe we will indeed be playing a 12th round, though don't know how many people will actually play it or just agree to draw. In any case, I will do my best to get the ustream to work and show the final big round between two of the big 3. Coverage will be starting around 1 PM.
