I guess since this tournament to be rated by Wcdf the rest of tournaments before it that were not rated would be ,in fairness for players who did not play in this one.

Re: The 2021 Illustrious checke ty
Good evening Jim
Danny and I are extremley pleased to announce that the Zoom 3 move Int. Ty that we are organizing and running right now is going extremely well.
There have been absolutely no issues with cheating, and only a few minor problems with getting fixtures set up and a few connection problems.
We are already into the final phase groups where 4 players ; Scarpetta, Moiseyev, McCosker and Chappell are fighting for the top 4 spots. Jon is having a great ty and I hope he will remain more active now that he is back playing.
Fighting for 5th to 8th spots are Oliphant, Tanya, Beckwith and myself. Again, Danny and Tanya are having a very good ty too which is very good to see.
Fighting for 9th to 12th is Holmes, Aaron, Joliff and Harper and for 13th to 16th is Pawlek, Gallagher, Foubister and Layne.
My idea when setting up this ty layout was to allow the weaker players who never get a chance to play a Grandmaster or world (ex) champion to be able to pit their skills against them. This has been successful.
Danny is responsable for receiving the games, and will be editing them all in a small book ; the funds of which will go to SDA and WCDF.
Some games have been published on FB and perhaps others will follow, but in any case it will be seen that there is a certain amount of 'rust' in the play of all players, and here again the aim of this ty was to also get the top players (all 16 players present in this ty therefore) to get back to playing again ; this was a success too.
On behalf of Danny and myself, the BIG thanks goes to the players who are making this ty an unforgettable one ; the FIRST International ZOOM TY 2021

- What do you like about checkers?: There are quite a few things I like about checkers: (1) It helps to create a great friendship between players. (2) It also creates a great rivalry between friends. (3) It helps the brain to be alert and to think clearly. (4) It also makes you want to get out of bed daily and to forget the aches and pains of old age.
