The 11 man ballot tournament is 3 hour time limit per match.


The speed tournament is a bonus tourny on thursday night

Alex, congrats on your win! I especially like what you said in your annotated games: "Checkers is not a game of win-draw-loss, but game of chances." Reminiscent of Derek Oldbury. We should not forget, that although for computers checkers is indeed win-draw-loss, for real people playing real games over the board, it's about taking chances and making chances.

Did Ed Gilbert's work on evaluation of 11-man ballots have any influence on this year's 11-man tournament?

Actually yes - Richard Beckwith had list of 247 (correct me if this number is inaccurate) losing openings generated by Ed & KR and few times we manually validated openings by reviewing this list. So, we never abounded any opening because it is on this list, but we referred and consulted with this list first time.

It’s pretty straight forward and easy, and I am planning to use this process when we’ll play World Title match with Alex Holmes.
