With five well-known Master Players competing, this year’s Ohio tournament was extra competitive, and we had a tie at the top through 6 rounds. Congratulations to Alex Moiseyev, who has won this state title every year that it was played since 2003 (and Alex also won this tournament three additional times prior as a PA resident). Tournament was 8 rounds, and Masters used clocks (55 minutes + 10 second for TWO games). We also welcome newcomer Leon Barrick.
$1090 in prizes were awarded. Special thanks to our donors Joe McDaniel ($1000), Rich Beckwith ($20), Alan Millhone ($20), Aden and Abe Keim ($20 each from 2022 prize), Eli Raber ($10), and to hosts Crist & Rosanna Miller who arranged great food for the players. Congratulations to Alex Moiseyev for 1st place in the 2023 Mid-Ohio Meet with 25 points! Congratulations to Alex Holmes for a fine 2nd place with 23 points. Congratulations to Mark Sokolovsky for 3rd place with 22 points and 317 honor points, and congratulations to Joe Moore for 4th place with 22 points and 287 honor points. Congratulations to WCDF President Rich Beckwith for 5th place with 21 points. Congratulations to the former long-term ACF President Alan Millhone in sole possession of 6th place with a positive score of 18 points.
