WCDF GAYP WQT 2025 in Italy

Just remind you that WCDF GAYP WQT this year will take place in Italy, October 12-19. I highly encourage outstanding American players take part of this event and join party and compete against some top players in the world.

Last news regarding Italy bid for 2025 GAYP WQT in October. I’ve got email from organisers that Aquileia hotel will have renovations starting October 1st and will not be available.

Organizers apologise for any inconvenience and instead offering even better deal.

New venue will be in Zoppolo (90 kilometers from Trieste) which is even closer to Venice and easy transportation, all hotel proces are about the same, but there will be free buffet for lunch and dinner (WOW!) and larger playing facility and ..: free wine and soda drinks during the day … not sure about details.

More details are coming. We are working with organisers on updating documents.

I am still waiting feedback from National Frdetations with nominations.

It seems like we truly need a fresh blood for checkers and i decided that more likely i’ll take part of this show and go to Italy this year - most important and respectable annual WCDF event.

Congratulations to Alex Moiseyev of the USA for taking 1st place in the 2025 GAYP WQT. Congratulations to Claudio Ciampi of Italy for 2nd place, and Jack Francis of Barbados for 3rd place....Alex Moiseyev is the long time WCDF 3-Move World Champion (2003-2013), and the current 11-Man Ballot World Champion. Mr. Alex earned the right to challenge current WCDF GAYP World Champion Matteo Bernini of Italy to a World Championship Match.

Congratulations to Anastasiia Glushko of Ukraine as the New WCDF Women's World Champion of Go-As-You-Please Checkers! Anastasiia Glushko takes 1st place in the Women's World Championship Tournament. Congratulations to Nadiya Chyzhevska of Ukraine for 2nd place, and Wynnell Neverson of Barbados for 3rd place.

Congratulations to Davide Gemma of Italy for winning the Gold Medal in the WCDF GAYP Youth World Championship Tournament. Davide retains his WCDF GAYP Youth World Championship! Davide is also the WCDF 3-Move Youth World Champion. Congratulations to Valeriia Yezhova of Ukraine for winning the Silver Medal. Congratulations to Tommaso Lodato of Italy for winning the Bronze Medal.

Congratulations to Alex Moiseyev of the USA for 3rd place, adding to his 1st place in the GAYP World Qualifying Tournament. Matteo Bernini adds the Blitz GAYP World Championship to his Classical GAYP World Championship!...We look forward to Matteo Bernini vs Alex Moiseyev for the Classical Go-As-You-Please Checkers World Championship!
