This respectable event was very active in the past collecting 40+ players in 3 divisions. Not anymore ! It was cancelled last year die to insufficient attendance. If we don’t do any immediately - everything everything will be gone soon enough in the next ten years. Myself, Kim Willis and Richard Beckwith started taken some emergency steps trying to restore some of these events.
Many thanks to aMark Sokolovsky who stepped in and wants to organise IL State event this year in Chicago.
If there are any IL players who read this and wants to be a part of restoration party, you can contact me, Richard, Kim or Mark or just follow future announcements.

“I hope everyone had a good holiday and happy new year. I would like to post something that we all could think about.
In the past years we have seen a decline in players attending our state tournaments and also where some of our tournaments have stopped having them all together. Which is sad. But this is where Alexander Moiseyev, Richard Beckwith and I have started this year on looking into bringing some of these back.
So my question to you all is which state tournaments would you like to see come back?
We do have a small amount of cash that could help.
So here is the 3 tournaments in which we are going to try to bring back.
Illinois,Southern,Oklahoma.
So i want to hear from you..
thank you
Kim Willis“
