TN GAYP Open

Post by Alex_Moiseyev »

This year I'll try to be there.

I had a bad luck   in TN this year when I returned back from Strawberry Festival Checkers Tourney and my car was broken on the road.

I am giving TN another chance. :P

Look forward to seeing you there, Alex, should you make it. And everyone else, as well. Hopefully turnout will be higher than it was last year.

 I see that Alex notched up another win here today. One can only wonder if the Pittsburgh Bank is allowing him to bring all of his winnings home in one of their Brinks Armored Trucks? "Mr. Checkers"
to bring all of his winnings home
Lets see ... I won first price in Morristown $150.00. Hotel expanses were $120, Gas,2 full tanks - $40x2 = $80, Meal for 2 days - $40. Total expanses = $120 + +$80 + $40 = $240.

Losses: $90

8 State tournaments during 1 year: total negative losses: $720.00

Good math

He did very well and you right, Jolt - there is no any reason for Jay to be disappounted. I was lucky to win both games against him, but I think it was only because of low practice and playing experience in real ty's.

For instance, after 9-14 (I had red) 22-18 5-9 ... he tried suspicious 18-15 but with small success. It maybe OK to play this in Internet, or having game down score, but this cannot be taken on serious occasion. GAYP is very discipline style.

Among two other fellows, Jay bought Sixth and I tried to encourage him to study seriously and practice with 3 moves.

I didn't finish my math  I am playing in average 120-150 games every year. Considering $720 annual losses, this means, that every single game which I play cost me $5 or one pack a cigaretts.

Average game consists of 20-25 moves, so evry move cost me 20-25 cents.
