Bill, it is written clear in rules that it's players responsibility to manage their own clocks and recording. If you fail to do this, you can't blame your opponent or anyone else. So - my task is easy: I don't worry about Michele or other closks, but worry about my clocks and scoresheets.

When I am short with time, I never trust scoresheets of my opponents, becasue they can cheat or just simply make mistake. I always caring number of moves on my own. This is some sort of security from cheating of my opponents. There are other ways to minimize risk and avoid cheating of opponent. No special managemnt or referee can help me here and I don't need anything from them and don't expect anything from them.

And indeed , the major risk of cheating and improper judgement usually comes from referee, not checkers player ... thats what statistic says. If we are looking for special management - it should be independent body not related and connected to referee. Someone directly from WCDF, but not referee or referee assistant.

For once the great man agrees with me .....................[ in my original post on this subject]take it out of the referees hands,it is a WCDF issue as far as qualifiers are concerned and its about time the stopped acting the cuckoo [a bird that lives in another birds nest but never builds his own] and put their head above the water and take some responsibilty.

Ever since the 1st QT in Prague they have been doodling ,step up to the plate and stop hiding behind the people who have kindly offered the bid.

Unless we really aggressively recruit young people I think that the possibility of Depends and/or viagra sponsoring Nationals will be a very sad reality.
