A. Even opening with high scope.
B. Hence, he did it again ! After the game he said that he played this for variety trying to get me in the woods
He certainly achieved his goal ! Mr. Louis Cowie, many times OH champ, always being a "life time sneak" for me
#1. White to move.

C. See diagram #1 before 24-19. White has a good number of promising attacks here, but I don't think anything is significantly better than text. Just matter of personal preferences.
D. Somehow passive giving white control on the central squares and leading eventually into weak position (see next note). 3-7 instead would be correct here.
#2. White to move.

22-18*
E. See diagram #2. White are missing much stronger continuation here with real winning chances: 22-18*, 9-14, 18-9, 5-14, 31-26*, 4-8, 19-15, 10-19, 17-10, 19-24, 23-18, 16-19, 21-17, 12-16, 18-15, 8-12, 15-11, 19-23, etc White strong
#3. White to move.

F. See diagram #3. Interesting midgame simmetrical position
G. Nice original fresh game.
Sincerely,
Alex

Ohio State Tournament Observations:
Another good learning experience for me. 3-Move Restriction is vast and a lot of fun to me. The variety of combinations is endless in many games. The metal challenges in tournament Checkers is limitless ! Mr. Joe Loconti set up for me a little ending problem that I never did solve ! We had a smaller group this year ,but the competition was tuff . Mr. Alex made an interesting comment to me , he said ; " To become fairly proficient in Checkers it takes 7-10 years of study". I have to agree as I have chased after the game off and on for most of my life and consider myself a little above average. I know just enough about the beauty and depths of Checkers to realize how little I really know about it. I have made many friends thru Checkers and love the game. I had a great time in Medina this past week-end and learned much. Nice to see Mr. Howard Gain come all the way from Florida. He took some photos that will appear in time on his web site. Clocks were used between Masters and Masters recorded and turned in their games to Dr. B. for preservation and perhaps another OHIOAN someday:-) Also many thanks to Mr. Joe Loconti (who is playing much better) for his constant financial support for our Ohio Tournaments.
I hope to see the 2nd. game I lost to Mr. Alex annotated and diagrammed on the forum sometime:-)

Mike,
Nice to hear from you. Someone asked where you were....sorry September didn't work out for you this year. Will you be around all December, including early December? Normally there are not many winter tournaments around these parts since the weather can be iffy.

Jolt, I am an optimist and truly believe that some day I'll be a millionaire - either through checkers or winning in lottery

I'm not sure what time in December, all depends when they say I can take leave, I should know a few months in advance though.
