2009 ACF G.A.Y.P. Nationals in Lebanon,TN.
Hello Everyone:
I just now spoke with Mr. Frank Davis who has submitted the bid for hosting this year's GAYP National Tournament in Lebanon, TN. Nationals will be held August 1-7 at the Americas Best value Inn and Suites. Longtime youth sponsor Mr. Victor Niederhoffer will again sponsor the week-end youth tournament held each year in honor of his late Father, Arthur Niederhoffer. I wish to publicly recognize Mr. Niederhoffer for his continued support of our young players, who will one day be our adult players in the ACF. As always, anyone entering the ACF Nationals will have to be a current dues paid ACF member. Dues can be paid at the tournament and I will have member cards on hand to issue . I will also bring along some extra issues of our ACF Bulletin for any new members who join .
The host hotel is located on Highway 231 (822 Cumberland Street) near I-40 (take exist 238 North off I-40) . Cal lthe hotel and reserve your room early : 1-615-449-5781 . Frank Davis' number at his home: 1-931-552-4246 . Mrs. Kimberly Willis will be referee for the week-end youth event. For the Nationals Mr. and Mrs. Frank Davis will serve as co-referees for the week of play.
Sincerely:

Re: 2009 ACF G.A.Y.P. Nationals in Lebanon,TN.
Hi John:
Hotel is offering a per nite rate of $45.00 plus tax. I suggest you find a room mater for the week and split the cost
Also this year the playing room is free and if needed players can spill over into the reception/breakfast area just past the check-in area. Players might even find a shady spot outside to play ! The host hotel is very happy to have us for a week and will do all they can to accomodiate all players. The main thing is to come and compete, make new friends, see old friends, and immerse yourself for a week of Checkers/Draughts. Mr. Frank Davis and J.R. Smith are looking for donations and will accept any and all .

I just found out Howard L. Owens' extensive checker library is for sale. His daughter said there were like 500 (books, magazines, pamphlets, bulletins, newsletters, manuscripts, papers) She will bring several boxes to each of the tournaments including the GAYP National, so here's your chance to get great quality hb originals.
As most of you know Howard Owens lived a long life and most of his life as a checker player and promoter of the game. He was the ACF Treasurer for many years before Charles Walker. Howard fought cancer in his later years and lived much longer than the doctors predicted he would live.

Re: 2009 ACF G.A.Y.P. Nationals in Lebanon,TN.
As usually, I am trapped again with my vacation, upcoming 3-moves WCM and other businesses. In addition, this year it will be GAYP event and I don't haver much interest to it. I wish Mr. & Mrs. Davis keep their bid for the next year National
Good luck to everyone and have a good time in Lebanon.
Regards,
Alex

Billy my intentions were innocent, I was trying to swell interest in the 2009 ACF GAYP Nationals, not your girlfriend, Dolly's niece! Sorry you took it the wrong way. You should blame it on the silliness of aging. I'll take it down. hehehehe

You can tell a man's age by how he: "wish, look, talk, play checkers"
