2013 US National 11-man Ballot

Post by Michael Holmes »

How soon can we get a firm date for this event. I would like to play in it this coming year along with all the other big events I plan to play in.

Hello Michael, I'm pleased to hear you are interested in playing in the 2013 11-Man National. You would definitely be bring new talent to the event. We would be delighted to have you, Alex, Chuck Freeman, and others are welcome when you come.

Traditionally we have held the tournament in February over the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th weekend of February. I usually call several of the core players and get an ideal of what fixs their schedule. We are thinking the 3rd weekend for 2013.

The best way for me (am I the only working player in ACF ? :D ) - play over Holiday (President Day) weekend, Saturday-Monday. This gives us at least 3 non working days.

Even if we need 4 days, we can make it Friday-Monday, or Saturday-Tuesday. Simple, easy  For school/college students also should work.

If necessary, we can always start late on Sunday (delay 1-2 hours) allow prayers morning worship, no problems. We also have in NC our checkers pastor Larry Michelle who can do it for players like we have it on TN and NC tourneys.

Anyway we can help Moiseyev and accomodate his needed dates? Would love to play the WC in this event. And, according to my calculations, that holiday weekend would be the third weekend. If the tourney is a Maximum of four days you could get a huge turnout. My son should probably be there too(no soccer during that time to interfer :D )

I could probably make this work as well. I have never played 11-man and think it would be a fun experience. We'll see how it goes.

I talked to several 11-Man core players and they suggested we keep the tournament to 3 days over Sat – Sun – Mon (February 16-18) instead of 4 days because this would be more in line with our $1K + prize fund, and being held over the weekend and a holiday for travel and play, accommodating the working players and any school attending youth. The prize fund is building nicely, and we are staying with our past year accommodations as Libby Hill Restaurant for our playing room and Continental Inn for lodging. Full details are available on NCCA Calendar and Google Checker Event Calendar. As some have observed the NCCA site has been down or missing the table of contents for several days. I’m working on that.
