Any news from the Northern Ireland Open 2013?

Hi John,
Yes, good tournament. Shane Mc Cosker & Garret Owens unable to play this year. 12 entrants in the Masters event and I think there's about 10 in the second section. Sean Mc Elkenny only played 2 rounds in Masters then withdrew (maybe this had to do with forfeiting a game to me when his cell phone rang!). It's created problems with byes. Event is 8 rounds of 2 games using 3 move openings.

After 5 rounds we had Tom Kee (ROI) 14pts, Colin Young (Sct) 13pts, and M. Hannigan (NI) 12pts, Danny Oliphant (Sct) 12pts, Patsy Logue (NI) 12pts, H. Devlin (ROI) 12pts. Wins have been hard to get with many drawn rounds. In the 6th round I was paired with C. Young and got 2 wins, other results not to hand yet.
