Be sure to also read Glenn Jordan's 1997 article, he actually emailed me to get the current status of ACF but I was ashamed to reveal our numbers; however, I've seen a small uptick in membership but we are dismally low compared to yesteryears.

J.R., thanks for the checkers article by Glenn Jordan; such a well written article can only advance the popularity of checkers. I really liked the article, but what is the Iron Cross opening that was played in the final game?

George - I don't know where Glenn came up with the name Iron Cross - it was a regular 11-15 23-18 8-11 27-23 4-8 etc game. Perhaps some Maine nomenclature I'm unfamiliar with.
