Miki effectively going into "What known is the 8-11 loss" when he played 16-20? Although Alex gave him a chance by playing 30-25 later, when 32-27 is the KILLER.
After the saud 30-25... Moiseyewv again gives Borghetti another out ny playing 22-17? then Miki blunders and game over!

thanks for the analysis Tommy....
this is the infamous blunder....

there were plenty of chances for both sides. Am i right in saying that there were a very high amount of new openings drawn???
I mean theres only 20 ballots and there were quite a few (im hopeless with percentages ) of them.

At one stage i thought they were playing with a "hard deck" .But the were using the 156 op deck and there was a big percentage of difficult and NEW openings which did surprise me...............there were many wins from these.

Yes indeed,in fact 8 out of the 40 games played were NEW opening that is 20% ,quite a high number.Plus the Octopus and several critical 9-13 s also.

I still have a few books left on the new openings if anyone is looking one.

Tommy i have just spent a few bucks (for me that was a lot) on a couple of books.... one of them was Alex's book.
Your book is definitely top of my list now.... hopefully i'll get it from my family as a xmas gift, barring that i am already saving for it

Thanks Danny ill keep that in mind ,it is the first and ONLY book so far, specifically written on the NEW ones so it may be a bit of a collectors item in years to come.It is a top of the range players text book or guide really.

Regardless of that i think Moiseyev won this match on the new ballots as Borghetti was at a big disadvantage in that regard and im assuming he had little or play on them.?

I personally think that Alex won on experience, and experience almost exclusively.... you could almost see Miki absorbing the experience during the match....and i personally think that Miki will be a huge force to be reckoned with in 2 years or less. At the end of the game i thought he played much much better than at the beginning. It will be tough to gather experience for Miki without playing the current crop of top players at least 2 or 3 times a year.

Regardless of what anyone thinks i think that the best player won. (obviously on a 40 game match is hard to invoke much luck) This was probably a wake up call for Alex who has been winning with one hand behind his back up until now.
