G. Owens vs Bashim Durdyev, G1
I really and truly giveup !!! There were alot of inaccuracies in play of both opponents in this critical opening 9-14, 23-18, 14x23 from the very beginning until final agreement with draw in winning position. I decided to pickup two diagrams - from the very beginning and at the end of game.
On diagram #1 after opening moves red just played 12-16 and white replied 32-27? which appears to be an earlier loss. 5-9 is correct way to meet 32-27, but red played 16-20 and game started !
Diagram #2 has a final position where red win is quite obvious and ... draw was agreed.
For discovery lovers

Red to move

D. Oliphant vs M. Bernini, G2
Position from INFERNO. Instead correct 6-10, red played here 8-11? which is an earlier published play loss and after then Matteo didn't miss anything and played it perfectly to the rest.
Red to move

S. Thrane vs J. Tikhy, G2
24 pieces still on board. 11-16? and game is over: 20x11, 7x16, 23-18 etc WW
Diagram #1. Red to move ........ Diagram #2. White to move.

U. Hydyrov vs J. Jolliff, G2
It is not an easy thing to locate in this game where red first time get into scientific loss. I'll take a chance and pick position on diagram #1 where red played 17-21? instead correct 11-16. After then white played it right until position on diagram #2.
How many players - so many ways to screw things! ... actually it should be "+1" ways, because one way to screw things is always unknwon.
White played here 31-26 ?? and after 11-15*, 18x11, 25-22, 27-24 draw was agreed.
White to move

C. Freeman vs F. Shafir, G2
30-25 ?? - loses, 27-24 is correct. This kind of "novice move" waiting for opponent mistake (4-8?, 20-16 etc WW) is made by almost everyone in the beginning of career. Indeed Vitaly, outstanding master in Russian checkers, is not new to game, but it was his first Anglo-American Checkers event of such calibre. Hence, one time I played 30-25 too in 1997 !!!

Second game of 5th round will be annotated later in other post under this topic. Stay on for more news !
Game Bagtiyar Durdyev vs Sergio Scarpetta (Rd.5, G2) will be annotated fully and professionally because it's appear like the only game where Sergio was in loss (still won it later due to Bagtiyar horrible blunder).
The reason Sergio got into loss is quite obvious - he didn't read Sixth or even didn't open it
