Game Animator

Post by Jason Solan »

Eventually i'd like to include a way to upload PDN on the forum....
until that time comes however, for any of those that would like to view pdn games online, you may copy and paste the pdn text into here:
http://usacheckers.com/show_game_form.php

This will animate the game for you.
I haven't done a ton of testing on this yet, so there may be some bugs. If there is please let me know.

P.S. This will only animate 1 game at a time.

New animator built into the forum.
If you have a valid PDN game (from checkerboard or some other program) you can now paste it in here and use the

Code: Select all

[pdn][/pdn]
tag to show it as a game.

Code: Select all

[pdn][Event "2010 OH 9-14 23-19 14-18"]
[Date ""]
[Black "Michael Holmes"]
[White "Louis Cowie"]
[Result "1-0"]
1. 9-14 23-19 2. 14-18 22x15 3. 11x18 26-23 4. 10-14 24-20 5. 6-10 25-22
{31-26 draws. This move loses.} 6. 18x25 29x22 7. 8-11 31-26 8. 5-9
{While the natural 11-15 allows a draw this unlikely move is the only one that wins.}
27-24 9. 11-15 19-16 10. 12x19 23x16 11. 14-18 30-25 12. 10-14 16-11 13. 7x16 20x11 14.
9-13 24-20 15. 3-8 28-24 16. 1-6 24-19 17. 15x24 22x15 18. 8-12 1-0[/pdn]

1. 9-14 23-19 2. 14-18 22x15 3. 11x18 26-23 4. 10-14 24-20 5. 6-10 25-22

You can also start at a specific move by adding an = sign and specifying the move like this

Code: Select all

[pdn=10][Event "2010 OH 9-14 23-19 14-18"]
[Date ""]
[Black "Michael Holmes"]
[White "Louis Cowie"]

27-24 9. 11-15 19-16 10. 12x19 23x16 11. 14-18 30-25 12. 10-14 16-11 13. 7x16 20x11 14.

What do you like about checkers?: I enjoy learning more and more as i go. despite its alleged simplicity the game is incredibly complex and rewarding.

Glad you like it Danny.
There's still a lot more I want to add to it. You're one of I think only 2 people to use it so far, so I haven't been in a rush to add features.

What do you like about checkers?: I love opening theory. I have experience with Chess, but I want to branch out and try new things; hence why I'm joining this forum.

The animator is not working at all for me. Is there a newer link? Thanks.
