In transposition......Basic Checkers says .......1216 2420 and anything other than 812* (or1115xx)is unsound!! you played 5-9 ?? 2522 same.

Disregard my last reply john ...havin had another look this is very interesting.....your opponents reply of 2723?? was a loser @mv 26!!......2218 draws and its p.p. out of a pretty obscure white doctor line.......

Until 9.8-12 you still followed one very famous examples:
Look at Ryan-Tinsley, US nationals 1946 :
9.-32-27 was played, and then 10. 4-8 31-26 (seems like 30-26 is not the key manouver in these kind of positions.)11. 8-11 27-23, 12. 6-10 21-17! ( better then the older 12.- 22-17 , when in Reed-Smith, match 1887, White ended up in a bad bridge position: 13. 2-6 30-25, 14. 9-13 17-14, 15. 10x17 21x14, 16. 13-17 25-21, 17. 17-22 16x17, 18. 11-15 19x10, 19. 12x26 28-24, 20. 6x15)
13. 9-13(13. 2-6 23-18, 14. 10-14 17x10, 15. 7x23 16x7, 16. 3x10 20-16!!, 17.23-27 16-11 seems to draw just on time
) 18-14, 14. 1-5 17-14, 15. 10x17 26-23, 16. 17x26 19-15, 17. 12x19 15x8 drawn.
In your game the move 13. 9-14 ?? was a grave error in positional judgement. You should have played 13. 2-6! like Reed did with the idea, that 13.- 26-22 now runs into 14. 10-15! winning for Black after 15.-19x10, 16. 12x26.
So White has to try something else like 13.-17-13, but then 14. 9-14! looks almost very strong with a poition that I would rather likew to play with Black, as he has many winning prospects, and I can't see a clear draw for White, e.g. 14.- 26-22, 15. 14-17 21x14, 16.10x26 31x22, 17. 11-15! wins easily.
So White has to try someting like 11.-22-17 or 11. - 22-18 that Tommy mentioned, but i doubt that these r clear draws, and believe that 9.-32-27! is the right path to eqaulity.
So this doctor seems like a good doctor to me for Black, as White has to know the Ryan-Tinsley game to find the easy draw.
