"Caution--Hybrids Out There"

A word of caution. Many of the checker sets that one finds forsale these days are "Hybrids" meaning that the checkers and the box that they are in do not go together. And the same holds true with the checkerboards and checker sets. Therefore if you have a box of Halsam "Solar" checkers and the checkers do not have the face of the sun on them then it is a "Hybrid". The same holds true with the Canadian "Maple Leaf" Checkers--which should always have a "Maple Leaf " embossed on each checker. (Cont.)
