"The Dixie King of Checkers"--answer

Post by Mr. Checkers »

He always keeps you in tune as to what is best both on and off the board and his play shows us that; which is one of the keys to his success. "Checker Trivia question of the Day"? Who is this very accomplished and sometimes outspoken checker personality? (Cont.)

Elbert Lowder, famous piano tuner. I think his license plate is "PIANO" or something similar.

- White (less famous oboist) fork

Excellent answer Whitefork. You picked up on the tune, keys, board, plays, accomplished etc., but what about the "Dixie" part of the question title? (Cont.)

Does Elbert whistle when he tunes?

Maybe because North Carolina is south of the Mason-Dixon line?

No that is not the answer to the "Dixie" part in the title. It is something unique to Elbert that sets him apart from all other checker players. (Cont.)
