"He Knows His Checkers But Does Not Play"--answer

Post by Mr. Checkers »

 He rarely ever misses his annual visit to his states checker tournament, where he enjoys the company of old friends as he quietly watches the games being played. One may wonder why he never joins in on the fun of losing or winning a game across the board? He may or may not stay for the whole tournament. And then he vanishes; not to be seen again until the next years tournament rolls around. "Checker Trivia questions of the Day?" Who is this mysterious checker problem solver and at what state checker tournament has he attended many times over the years? (Cont.)

OK, I think I know now :) ..... Terry Mazzocco

He was actually absent in recent Ohio State Tournament, but was present quite a bit in Medina for the June National. A good crossboard player too, in addition to being a good problem solver!

 An excellent answer Richard. Terry has been attending the Ohio State Checker Tournament for many years. He should receive an award for his devoted attendance. I don't recall ever seeing him play at any of these events though. You will see his name quite often in the Missouri Checker Newsletter as one of their premier checker problem solvers. He also contributes money to different checker activities. (Cont.)
