:lol: Checker Trivia questions of the Day"? How many checker players attended this fine tournament in Brownwood, Texas"? And secondly who won it and at what age was he? :lol: Mr. Checkers

107 registered and 101 played-tinsley at 21-the two oldest were 73 and 77

:lol: This fine tournament was won by Marion Tinsley at the age of 21. Our records show that 205 were in attendance. :lol: "Mr. Checkers"

from elams checker board sept. 1948-107 registered and 101 played- i dont recall any tourney that ever had 200 players

:lol: Steve, I was thinking one thing and typing another (such is life), so your figure is closer to being accurate than mine is. What I meant to say was how many were in attendance at this fine tournament--and the 205 would have been the closer answer because a lot of the players brought there families and there was a huge barbecue the first night of the tournament, which drew a lot of people to it.
