"Rare & Very Old Wooden Checkers"--answer

Post by Mr. Checkers »

 This fine company was established in the 1850's and they were in business for over 100 years. Over those years the company burnt down a few times, but they always came back. One of their many wooden products, which is rarely seen today, was of course a fine set of wooden checkers. "Checker Trivia" question of the Day"? What was the name of this interesting company? "Inky"

 The Newton and Thompson Co. of Grandon, Vt. made many kinds of wooden products starting in the mid-1800's. Of course the one I liked most was their beautiful dovetailed wooden box of checkers with their name burnt into the lid. This is a rare one of a kind checker set to be found here in our museum. "Mr. Checkers"
