"To Some He Was Known as "Stonewall"--answer
"Checker Trivia question of the Day". Who was this very famous checker champion from years long gone by? (Cont.)

Charles Francis Barker was perhaps better known as "Stonewall" Barker. In 1882 during James Wyllie's second tour of America, Barker played Wyllie for the title of World Champion, the match ended in a draw with both players finishing with a win each, 48 games drawn, therefore Wyllie remained World Champion.
During (World Champion) James Wyllie's first memorable "Trip to America" Barker's older brother W. R. Barker played Wyllie for the title of "World Champion" twice, in their first match (1873) Barker lost to Wyllie 10-1-31, in their second match (1874) Wyllie won by a score of 3-1-46.
Another brother, Isaiah Barker was a well known problem composer and analyst.
