"Checker Trivia question of the Day". What very famous person is credited with doing the dedication to William Payne's--Game of Draughts--1756? (Cont.)

Fine answer Steve. And there is some controversy as to whether or not Johnson wrote the "Preface" of Payne's--"Game of Draughts". One thing that we are finding in our research is that there are far more copies of Payne's book in the hands of people that enjoy Samual Johnson's writings than there are in the hands of checker players.
