Post by Mr. Checkers »

Fine checker figurine because he would have been able to relate to it in several ways. John Rogers submitted this checker figurine at a church auction in 1859. "Checker Trivia questions of the Day". What was the name of this fine John Rogers checker figurine and in what way would Tom have been able to relate to it. (Cont.)

In 1859 John Rogers submitted a small figurine for a church auction, which was entitled "the Checker Players". Tom Wiswell could have related to this figurine because it showed two players playing checkers on a park bench--which Tom had done many times in Central Park during his lifetime. (Cont.)
