Marks the beginning of the ACF. "Checker Trivia question of the Day"? It also marks the beginning of another contributor to our checker community, which is still in existence today? (Cont.)

ACF founded in 1948
Yes, I did a little research on that a while back... The American Checker Federation today is the only national checker organization and the central goverorning body for checkers in the U.S. Originally the ACA (formed in 1906) and they merged with NCA on Sept 1st, 1947 using the NCA as a temporary name with 665 membership. The following year the new name of the American Checker Federation was chosen by full vote on May 1st 1948 thus ACF was established.
