News, Comics, Sports, Crossword Puzzles-answer

Post by Mr. Checkers »

And "Checker Problems" were once a daily feature in many of our local and national newspapers. Hopefully some of you older checker players will remember these unique problems that were not easily solved by the next day (when the answers to them appeared along with a new problem). "Checker Trivia" question of the Day"? This checker personality not only had a very fine library of checker literature, but he was also recognized as having one of the finest collections of checker problems from newspapers all over the world. After his death his library and checker problems were purchased by Don Goodwin, who inturn sold the problems to another collector of fine checker literature who is still living today. Name both of these well known collectors of "Checker Problems"? (Cont.)

Harry Stilson's checkers library which included a great many scrapbooks filled with checkers problems from news papers and magazines was purchased by Don Goodwin. Goodwin later sold the scrapbook collection to my good friend Gene Rader.
