NEW CHECKERS WEBSITE
I am sure readers have been entertained by the many interesting and informative articles posted here
by Jay H on the Checker Sharing section of the Forum.
Well now Jay has gone a step further and produced a brand new website devoted to the History of the Game. The site features Checkers /Draughts Artifacts, Photos from the Past, Books and Manuscripts, and many other historical items, as well as Time Lines of the major events, personalities and activities throughout the ages.
The aim of this new site is not only to provide information, but to seek the participation of all draughts/checkers enthusiasts to share their views and knowledge of the game. No doubt, there are many hidden treasures out there which readers may wish to share with others. Here is the chance to do just that. Contributions from the readers will be especially welcome. In addition to the information features there is also a separate Forum where readers can take part and express their views.
I am honoured to have been asked by Jay to join him in the setting up of this site, the aim of which is, not to produce some dull and dusty archive, but, in Jay’s words, to “Promote the Future of Checkers by Glorifying its Pastâ€.
The new site address is:
http://www.online-museum-of-checkers-history.com/
Welcome to all.

Re: NEW CHECKERS WEBSITE
Really and trully outstanding, fantastic job ! Jay / Liam, you made me a day !!!
I just passed the link to new site to Russian checkers audience, and in addition - personally to one guy, who does the same thing across the sea - collect all articles, photos, pictures etc related to checkers.
As far as I know, for the time now he works on very interesting project - try to create a unversal "checkers dictionary" which includes specific terminology, abbreviations, etc in all languages. I also recommended him to post here and add to museum any interesting information and new items.
I am sure - he will enjoy new Jay & Liam site.
Regards,
Alex

Welcome to all.

Liam, you are far too modest !!
To all,
As stated on the homepage of the site, we (Liam and I) have worked as closely to "eyeball-to-eyball" as two people an ocean apart possibly can on this project.
Countless hours of reasearch, learning how to configure a site, communicating back and forth for the last several months....indeed, there is no part of this site that we have not discussed. It is truly a combined effort....and the pleasure is all mine !
It is my hope that any who visit will at least consider participating....
Check it out...I hope you enjoy it !!
Regards
Jay H

Re: NEW CHECKERS WEBSITE
Jay and Liam, I congratulate you on your magnificent web site. It is a wonderful idea to preserve our checkers/draughts history and make it available to every player worldwide via the internet. Thank you for taking the time (and having the ability) to accomplish this work of art.

2ACF
Jason / Alan / Rich,
I propose to add a "Museum" icon to ACF website bar on the top of front page, second line, after "Store". This would make alot of sense and will be much easy for users to reach both sites and switch.

Re: NEW CHECKERS WEBSITE
hi Jay,
I just wanted to say that when i went to that site and seen my suggestion i was floored.I do believe that each and every player from the past and future has something in their collection at home that could be contributed. It may seem to be nothing but also could be just 1 piece of history and that 1 piece along with other pieces could bring back the past or even show the future of this wonderful game. All i would like to say is thank you for putting this website together. For it is a small start but also something we can give back.

Thanx for visiting the site....!
I agree that the internet can go a loooong way to preserving the games history, if we make it work for us !!
This game has a history as long and rich in tradition as any other competitive endeavor,.....No....Scratch THAT !!!
Longer and Richer in Tradition than MOST !!!
But, it needs to be displayed !!!
That is the goal of the site.....everyone sharing....their items, their knowledge, their memories, their love of the game's past !!!
