I just wanted to say that when i went to that site and seen my suggestion i was floored.I do believe that each and every player from the past and future has something in their collection at home that could be contributed. It may seem to be nothing but also could be just 1 piece of history and that 1 piece along with other pieces could bring back the past or even show the future of this wonderful game. All i would like to say is thank you for putting this website together. For it is a small start but also something we can give back.

No need to be humble !!
Your concept was a stroke of genius !!! In my part of the world, we call it "giving credit where credit is due".
If Liam and I had the money, we would build a new monument to the game...but we don't.
So, the closest we can get to your idea is our efforts on line.....
Thanx for visiting the site, and I hope you are looking for a few things to contribute.... :!: :!:

Thanx again for looking !!

Jason / Alan / Rich,

I propose to add a "Museum" icon to ACF website bar on the top of front page, second line, after "Store". This would make alot of sense and will be much easy for users to reach both sites and switch.

Greetings Alex,

Thanx for all of the kind words, and helping to "push" the site.Cannot get a much better endorsement than from the World Champion !
  I was hoping you could submit some images of some of your trophies for exhibit......Would make a great exhibit, as I have never seen them, and I am sure others would like to see them also.....

Thanx again !! :!:

Jay, I am not sure if you have enough electronic place to display all my trophies for 40 years

But I will send you one interesting thing: image of my "USSR Mastrer ID License". It has registration number on it (universal for all kind of sports), official stamp and signature from Sport Minister and my photo when I was 15 years old (oh-h-h).

At the time when I left USSR, October 1991, there were still restrictions in place that any documents with stamps cannot be taken out of country. However I didn't want to lose this document and find a way to bring it here

Alex

Greetings Lindus,

Thanx for looking, and the compliments !! As you permitted, we have made liberal use of many of your photos, which greatly enhance the "visual" aspect of the site !!

Greetings Alex,
WOW.....! There would be no chance of political "repercussions" from your homeland if we were to exhibit this item, would there?
And, I am not being "trivial" here...I know you still have family and friends in your homeland.
The political landscape being "questionable" over there, public flaunting of "indescretions" would not be the impetus for retaliations, would it...?
But, yes...this would make a most remarkable exhibit !!! An incredible addition to the "CHECKERS ARTIFACTS" page !!!!!!!

hi jay,
i am not a genius but when the Hall of Fame burned it just was so upsetting to see that history gone. And just to have a website with many players and their collection to be displayed but still in their hand is something.
And as for me i do have many things over the years i have been traveling pictures of 100's maybe thousands.
Many have memories of games and meeting others from faraway.Like i have in the past.Books, trophies, pictures, maybe a checker board from way back.To me each one of these things is like when your or my grandfather told a story from the past which was a memory not lost but to be past on to each generation. So i hope with this website will be the beginning of rememberance of the past so it can be carried on threw the future.

Jay, don't worry ! If you read my post with attention, you can see that I said " ... at the time when I left the country, October 1991 ..." As you know, it was just less than two months from the time when Soviet Union collapsed (maybe it was collapsed because of I left ? ) and today any items with Soviet Union symbolics including stamps etc. are rare, obsolete and have only colectable values. Many of governement medals, much more serious documents, various unforms and other items even Soviet Union flags etc are on the market today and you can find them even on ebay.

My Master License Id maybe interesting and have some value only in your museum and in my house

One time I demonstrated it's image to Alan Millhone and proposed him to create a "Grandmaster-Master" Id's and diplomas and he was very interested, but yet to the moment this idea haven't being materialized.

Alex
