USA 3-moves National

Post by Alex_Moiseyev »

I decided to move here short expreess comments to my games which I posted under "Tournaments" Section, and let people continue a free dispute about importancy of games  and do not interrupt their extremely interesting dialogue with my damn boring staff.

=======================================================================================================================================
GAME #1.

A. Moiseyev vs R. King
Rd.8, G4

White to move and win
Image
23-18!

In real game Ron played 32-28? (very costly error), 16-20, 23-18, 20x27, 31x24, 5-9, 24-20, 15x24, 28x19, 4-8 etc with very unfortunate draw.

Instead, in position on diagram he can play 23-18, 16x23, 18x11, 8x15, 31-27, 23-26, 30x23, 4-8, 23-18, 8-11, 27-23, 12-16, 32-27, 16-20, 21-17 (not 23-19 10-14* Dr),5-9 23-19 WW

Game #2.

I played this game like sock and missed a simple shot which Joe Schwartz made, and this ending was maximum I can get. As soon as we crowned a last King, I called 40-moves rule. After 30 moves Joe gave up and agreed with draw. In fact he missed a win during the game, but only because I didn't play well and didn't prevent one important trick which white has in this position.

A. Moiseyev vs J. Schwartz
Rd. 6, G1

White to move, red to draw

GAME #3.

E. Morrison vs A. Moiseyev
Rd.3, G2

Red to move and draw

31-27? loses

Canadian master Earl Morrison played extremely well in this tournament, he drewed his rounds with Richard Hallet and Ron King where he missed a win.

I also lost to him first game in "Twilight Zone" opening, but was lucky to win games #2 and #3 and win round. In position on diagram he played a losing 31-27? and lost as following: 8-3,27-23,3-7,6-10,21-17,10-15,7-11,23-18,11-16,18x9,13x6 WW Instead, he should play 31-26,8-3,26-22*3-7,6-10,21-17,10-15,7-11,15-18* etc Draw
I am playing checkers, not chess.

Hi Alex,

Re Game 1.
Instead, in position on diagram he can play 23-18, 16x23, 18x11, 8x15, 31-27, 23-26, 30x23, 4-8, 23-18, 8-11, 27-23, 12-16, 32-27, 16-20, 21-17 (not 23-19 10-14* Dr),5-9 23-19 WW
With all the hot air, no-one seems to have noticed that 21-17 must come before 32-27.
Otherwise, is there not a draw available by 10-14 ? ( instead of 16-20)
