I had received today in mail an invitation letter from Larry. This is probably 1st time when District 4 runs so earlier and ... hit Holloween !!! How I can go there if I have two kids, 9 1nd 13 ? My daughter (9) bought Vampire porpour dress and I can't miss this party. I don't have anything special and probably don't need it for Holloween :D

Alex, here are the reasons that we selected this date for the tournament:

1. We have had the tournament on the first weekend in November for a long time. I'm just continuing that tradition.

2. There are two other tournaments that are being played two weeks later. I didn't want to push our tournament to the 7-8th and then have another tournament the very next weekend. This at least gives the fellows a weekend in between the tournaments.

3. The fact that the first day of the tournament falls on Halloween only affects the younger players who still have children at home. I didn't think it would have much impact on those who could come. If enough players think we should change that date, I will try, but it is late to try to change the tournament. Sorry for any inconvenience that it may cause.

Hi, Larry ! Congratulations with your post #1 on this forum :D

It was just a joke on my part about Holloween. I perfectly understand that this is probably the best and only solution in terms of business needs. Crossing other state tournaments (KY and IL) on November weekends #2 or #3 will be much more mess. I wish you this year a big turn of players in District 4 toiurney and I hope to be there next year ! Please, pass my personal greeting to all players and guests.

Regards,

Alex
