Suki is Suki  - one tournament is over, other on the way! Very strong and powerful performance. He just proved once more his credibility to play 3-move World Title Match next year and I am glad to see him back to business and fully armed, which gives us a good chance that it maynot be one-side match.

It is really pity that Jack Francis was unable come and play in Beijing.

Respectfully,

Alex Moiseyev

Awsome score and congratulations to Ron, Liam any news of an Irish challenge. I wonder what the record for a winning score in the Irish open is I think Derek Oldbury had 34 points in kings court in 1982.

Interesting Developments.

Hi Shane,

Going into last round, top Irish players were Myles Hannigan on 21 points and Sean Cronin on 20.
They drew against each other, and in the last round are repaired. So it looks like one of them will be your next official challenger for Irish 3 Move Match championship.
King beat Francis in both games in their pairing, and are also repaired in final round.

For Alex - thanks for invitation to annotate some of the Beijing games, but I must decline. I have a heavy schedule of tasks to do for Irish Draughts Association and Newsletter so will not have any spare time. Also I think you have a good team already.

Regards - Liam.

Congratulations to Ron for winning the Irish Open 2009! :bounce:

A strong answer to the "disappointing" result at the WMSG.
Though, as I told him, to win a silver medal in such a high calibre event is something no Barbadian has ever match in his or her respective sport.
I hope he finds enough time and inspiration to prepare for another match with Alex Moiseyev, though then the going will get thougher.
Now one sees how strong the competition was in Beijing.

And let's hope that the repairing does not lead to a player with 19 or 20 points to pass by Hannigan or Cronin, because they get repaired, and that player gets "paired down"
As you see, repairing is a double-edged sword.
I hope we can have the results by Thursday.

Greetinx from cloudy Dortmund,

Ingo

Ingo, some players are still in the past, in Beijing. But you, instead, are far ahead - in 2009 ! :D
