hello Neil,
Nice to see on here.At this time no bids as of yet.I do hope that we have a National this year but maybe not if no bids come in. Which is sad.I just hope that someone does.

but perhaps MO and OH would be willing to chip in...............Thats an good idea John Acker ......

Here in Ireland we have 3 or 4 major Associations promoting the game and while one or the other Asso/Federations are actually at the heart of the running of a particular All- Ireland or Irish Open and all that that entails ,we have been promoting the idea that all concerned should "if the can put something" in the "pot" howevr small according to that :!:/Feds means.

We have had a good response to this even tho its, not cast in stone but more of a gentlemans agreement and that has worked very over this past few yrs and enriches the Ty and it also means that everyone has owner-ship of the Ty in some way.It has also had the added effect of creating more close links and ties with all concerned ,I think this is the way to go and if every State or Association put in a little it would be a solid base to work from for whoever makes a bid for the 2009 U.S Open............which i hope to be attending myself.!!

Its important that these matters are sorted and the sooner the better because as you know arrangements need to be made regarding flights /accomodation booked ,to effect a good turn-out in the interests of everyone etc.We did have a lil hick-up ourselves this year with the Irish Open after a proposed bid failed to stand up but fortunately Bill Dobbins Kildare and his team arranged at qute short notice a venue and with almost 50 players a very successful outcome.Hopefully you can do the same in 2009 if everyone pulls together.!!
