Thanks for the update Sune
Tom Key (apparently a well known player who wasn't played for a while)
The first time I met Tom was at the last British & Irish Freestyle Open which was held in Limerick.
I believe Tom lived in London for a while and was a long member of the London Draughts club.

Here is a game I had with Tom from the recent Kildare Open.

[Event "Kildare Open 2009 (Town House Hotel, Naas C.o Kildare)"]
[Date "20\02\09"]
[Black "Tom Kee"]
[White "Shane McCosker"]
[Result "0-1"]
1. 12-16 22-17 2. 16-19 24x15 3. 10x19 23x16 4. 11x20 25-22 5. 8-11 22-18 6. 9-13 17-14 7.

23-27 15-18 38. 27-32 21-17 WW

8-11!

(A) See Diagram
(B) 31-26 is also a good alternative but this move seemed safest cont: 13-17 25-22 11-15 18-11 9-25 21-14 25-29 26-22 6-10 22-17
10-15 17-13 7-10 14-7 3-10 11-8 2-6 8-4 29-25 30-21 15-19 24-15 10-26 to a probable draw

I'm glad to see three Irish players in contention good luck guys and see ya all there on monday.

regards

Go Liam,you can do it.

There was a fine man called Liam,
Who played draughts in a match and was even,
So he pulled out his cooks
After studying the books,
And caused his opponents some grieving.

Hi Ingo

It was quite nice for once to play in a tournament without being sick or jetlagged out of my mind. My play is a little bit better but not much - instead of losing easily drawn games I draw won games :). I was quite satisfied with my play in the GAYP tournament but I'm getting totally creamed in the 3-move tournament. Sitting for myself meditating over my bad results I concluded that the master section of the Scottish Open is not the ideal place to play a 3-move opening for the first time :D .

In the GAYP tournament I got a win and 3 draws on Sunday unfortunately I missed wins in all of them

Thx Sune from Fossano.

It is an improvement to draw won games, as I lose won games if I am in bad shape frequently.
3-move is a diffrent world as you play in bad positions or positions you don t like with both sides.

Don t try too hard and see it as a lesson in charakter shaping, as it makes zou humble.

Greetinx from Fossano,

Ingo
