A nice article and video link from the Toledo Blade. I should be as mentally sharp as this gentleman.

Great article, Whitefork. Good find. Thanks for posting. Toledo is ony about 180 miles north of here. It would be nice to see more of that kind of thing in the papers (or on the Internet or somewhere...) which seem to be somewhat dismissive of Checkers (regular or pool) sometimes... . I'm not sure why.

As far as being mentally sharp is concerned, you yourself play double reed instruments; not everybody in the world can do that... .

Do you own an XKE perchance? Mrs Fork had a lovely XJS convertible (1990) until it caught fire (engine, gas leak I guess) and had to be totalled. That was a beast of a machine.

And double reed playing does lead to craziness, or maybe it's the other way around. I'm exhibit A.

Ho, ho, ho 'Fork; pretty cute.

I hope I've learned to play checkers by the time I'm 92.

Yes, an E-Type roadster; same engine as Mrs. 'Fork's XJS (more-or-less), but different fuel delivery (carbs instead of injection). Thirty seven years and no fires so far... .

Just the thing for blasting east to Columbus to play checkers... .
