Who has it?
Do any of you have Nemesis or the Cake 8-piece database? Is there any chance that we could have a game sometime? I want to play these Programs-Databases so bad!!! I'm tired of playing the same old programs like Nexus, Cake Manchester 6-piece, Kingsrow, Simple checkers, sage, and WCC. I have not really never faced anything stronger than the ones that they got available for free, please Reply to this so i can finally have a game against them, i would really appreciated it.

ME AGAIN
I HAVE KINGSROW WITH 8PC DATABASE
YOU SHOULD TRY GETTING KINGSROW THE OPENING DATABASE IS LARGE AND EVEN WITH ONLY 6 PC DATABASE IT WILL BE STRONG ENOUGH. CAKE KINGSROW AND NEMESIS ARE ABOUT AS GOOD AS EACH OTHER SO IF YOU GET ONE OF THEM ITS MOSTLY LIKE PLAYING THE OTHER. WHEN YOU TURN ON A PROGRAM MAKE SURE THE OPENING DATABASE IS WORKING CUZ IF ITS NOT USING ONE IT WONT PLAY AS WELL. IF YOU HAVE A HIGH SPEED INTERNET CONNECTION
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD --OR ATLEAST YOU COULD I DONT KNOW ABOUT ANYMORE-- THE 8 PC DATABASE FROM THE CHINOOK WEBSITE AND KINGSROW COULD USE THAT DATABASE.

Re: Who has it?
Hi Matthew,
Kingsrow can be downloaded from my checkers web page. Go to http://pages.prodigy.net/eyg/Checkers/KingsRow.htm and follow the link 'KingsRow for English checkers'. For endgame databases you have several options. If you have a high speed internet connection you can download the chinook 8-piece db. There is a link to it at the kingsrow page. You can also get the cake 8-piece db from Bob Newell for a very nominal fee which is basically his cost to copy and ship the disks. The cake db can be used with either cake or kingsrow, but the chinook db can only be used with kingsrow. When you install kingsrow you also get a large opening book of over 800,000 positions with extensive play on all the 3-move openings. Cake and kingsrow are checkers engines which do all the searching and db lookups, but have no user interface functions. They work with CheckerBoard, which is Martin's very nice user interface to checkers engines. All these programs are free, and you can find more details including steps to install and use them by following the link above.

Re: Who has it?
But, now the question is.... Is Kingsrow going to be able to be better than Cake Manchester 6-piece database----- Kingsrow- with that database?
