what this thing is. Found in my father-in-law's barn.
Nutcracker? Juicer? Adjustable wrench? all-purpose grabber?

Turns out to be a nutcracker after all:
Yes, it is a Little Giant, patented in 1881 in the US. It is absolutely a great nutcracker!!!

Hi Richard,

I was thinking it would be an adjustable wrench for an old square wagon wheel nut.

Oh well I say close enough, I mean name me someone who hasn't used their wagon wheel wrench to crack nuts

Thanks to Palomino for imparting the secret of the [IMG] tags.
It may be a nutcracker, but it may also be a lemon squeezer, or maybe usable for both functions. I will have to experiment. I tracked down the patent information. http://www.google.com/patents/about?id= ... eber+lemon

and here http://www.papawswrench.com/vboard/show ... 260&page=3

Anyway, it's a very nice bit of design.
