Re: Question for Jan M

John, Im not sure how its done, but I havent played in an ACF tournament for years. The only tournament i ever played in was the American Nationals in Vegas, years ago,my first ever live tournament.I met you there, and Wilma, Kim and Clint, Larry Keen and many other fine people. You remember?Thats the only rating ive ever had from the ACF.
In the WCDF ive played in Barbados, Ireland twice, Prague(that was a wonderful time)Wales,i got third in the Welsh open, and recently in Vegas again. So ive played a bit under the WCDF banner, and won the qualifiers, maybe thats taken into account, plus we have a New Zealand national every year. Why do you ask?
Its not like i can afford to travel too often, its very expensive from New Zealand. Regards Jan

Dear John,

as far as I know the ACF rating only included ty's in the USA and ty's with US players abroad.
There is a list of rated events:

So I guess some of Jan's achievements like her matches against Pat Breen or her NZ nationals or the Welsh Open 2007 were not ACF-rated.
Also the WCDF rating reports contain a list of rated events for the reported period.
Check them if you are lookimg for huge diffrences.
Also keep in mind that the WCDF uses the Glicko system, which is an Elo variation, and the old ACF rating was based on the opponents average and the "rounds won-rounds lost" ratio, so that differences are to be expected.
