I attempted to create a list of possible titles that players can win. These are just a uniform list of title names. There is another table which houses the winner and the year that it was won.
Current Version:
http://www.usacheckers.com/playground/titles.php
Current Features:
List of available titles
Future Features:
A lineage of title winners.
Link title to all tournaments it was defended at.
TODO:
Make editable so new titles can be created.
Additional filters for District/State
Create another form to assign winners to titles.
Additional forms to maintain types,styles,etc

Re: Titles
Only titles with champions (past or present) will be displayed on the site. This "full" list is for admin functions basically. My idea for tournament announcements is that we should list the titles that can be won at the tournament.
I think the major flaw in my thinking is that we should qualify the titles. Instead we should qualify the winner. i.e. my concern was that at some point in the past a State Champion was won by playing GAYP and now is won by playing 3-Move. At first my thought was that the "generic" state title would be linked to either the gayp or 3-move champion. So in the past the state champion was the GAYP champion and the current state champion is the 3-Move champion.
Instead, what I think is a better idea is to say that the championship is just the championship. Then qualify that the title was won at a GAYP tournament or a 3-Move tournament.
I don't know if what I just explained makes sense to anyone but me, but that's part of what I plan to use this forum for. To make notes for myself to follow through on.
