Match began around 9:20 am after contract signing. Ron had whites for first game of 11-16 22-18 7-11 (which they had in previous match). First half of game followed Basic Checkers trunk (then I had to leave for work). They are playing in larger ballroom that was used for 2006 National. The film crew folks may be in later for the match. I took a couple pics and will send to JR later.

Was Ron 15 minutes late for his flights?

Hazeian King wrote me that he showed up at Barbados airport on Friday at 7:00 am for a 7:00 flight.
I'm not sure which leg of the flight was missed Saturday. He wound up in Cleveland later than I expected him.
I visited with Ron last night, but we didn't review the weekend in detail. He mostly wanted to play some practice games and to look ahead.

Ron won beautiful 4th game and 've got a lead in match. I probably missed a technical win in game #3.

Today we finished earlier, in 2nd game Ron misssed a temporairly pitch on my side which allow me easy escape. Would he prevent it, he had very powerful position ... at least to say.

So Ron wins first game , and perhaps misses win in 5th !!! This means that Alex is off to a great start , as I am one of the people who can surely say that when Alex is under pressure , is when he is at his most dangerous and most creative !!!

Ron King's 1216 was not the losing move as this is a well known position that comes up

Yes that is correct Mac ,

I also won the freyer way against Buckby in 2000 British , however on crossboard terms who ( with very good visualisation of course ) would be tempted with the PP routes , which without prior knowledge seem a bit " ify " .

For interesting game see the Oldbury missed win on Tinsley , and on which I have an unrevealed transposition from an entirely different opening!!!

Well Irma ,

black should avoid playing 9-14 before 17-13 I believe , and will obtain a reasonably " easy " draw.

ie. Ref . Mac's post ; after 5-9 22-17 , then it would be wiser to play 4-8 , then if
1.17-14 exchanges play 7-10 exchange then 29-25 8-11 25-22 2-6 22-17 15-18 19-16 shot 3 for 3 draws PP
2.17-13 8-11 13x6 2x9 29-25 11-16 21-17 7-11 17-13 9-14 13-9 14-18 has been played to draws many times also.

The variation shown by Mac and played by King is not the only defense , but seems to have been prefered by the great champions of the past , Ryan ; long ; Hellman etc.

Hello William,

Thanks, I will review the Oldbury -Tinsley game. I will see if I can find the opening
that the position came up with. I want to clear something for Irma. Irma, I was
just stating that Ron King was in a loss after Alex went 2522 and it didn't matter if
he went 12-16 or 8-11 or took the other jump as all moves would lose in the position
that Alex showed. Of course William is correct when he said there is a much better
way to draw than the way Ron King was playing the position. William , Please send

that Alex showed.
