Re:BBS
Well Jan, looks like he's taken over Yossarian's role.
I have censored all thought of him from my mind.

With disregard to other thoughts, Alex and Jan will you tell me what you think this quote means in your own words? Thanks in advance

Re: Perspective
That's a good quote, Jan.
I just think that the level of 'good' of someone is shown in the way that he/she replies to things that happen.
Many kids for example prefer to go to one parent over the other based on a situation at hand. The person knows that one parent will reply in a way that is more comforting to hear, and he/she will still get to learn.

HA, ha, - thank you for that Lindus.
All right minded people, must be horrified at the avalanche of abuse heaped on you by that anonymous and malevolent nonentity, who is of no standing or importance, whatsoever, in the Checker community. Hence, the need to hide behind an alias. Nobody should take any notice of such rantings. So, keep up your courage and good spirits in the face of such adversity.
Regards - Liam.

Re: BBS
Thank you so much Liam. It is comforting to know that I am appreciated in the checker-playing world.
I believe Oscar Wilde once remarked upon the opinions of illiterates, brutes and Philistines.
As Wilde before me I do not give tuppence for their opinions and therefore view the imbecilic twaddle of the now infamous "XX" quite extraneously.
May I say what a perfect pleasure it is to read your always well-written and highly intelligent messages.
You and I are in danger of becoming very much something of a rarity.

Re: BBS
Thank you Lindus, It is very flattering to learn that anyone regards me as being intelligent
I hope that you will continue to post here, despite anything that has been said by that obnox(xx)ious person on the BBS. At least, here, one can no longer post anonymously. I also hope that your absence from the BBS will be short lived.
Regards - Liam.

Cicero once said that the function of wisdom is to discriminate between good and evil.
In that regard Liam I feel we have both succeeded.
