This has not appeared on the main page yet - I did send an email to the tournaments@usacheckers.com address but perhaps not successfully. Alan, if you're reading this, could you please?
Saturday June 5,
At 8 Pine Street, Dover MA.
Registration 9:30, first round 10.
Depending on the number of players, I'd like to use the same round-robin format we used last year:
Games to be played as soon as the players are ready to begin, go-as-you-please, draw for colors.
We'll provide lunch, coffee and snacks.

Re: District 1 tournament
It was a good turnout. We had 10 players for a GAYP round robin, with Steve Kelly of Medford MA emerging as winner with 15 points. Crosstable follows. All players were from MA except Al Darrow and the Fecteau father and son, from CT.
Al Darrow x222011221 13 CT champion
Alan Fecteau 0x00000000 0
Aaron Fecteau 02x0000000 2
Bill Wheeler 022x021210 10
Steve Kelly 2222x12220 15 District 1 and MA champion
Fred Follis 12201x0121 10
Joseph Margolin 122102x222 14
Eric Reid 0220010x10 6
Steve Catanese 02210001x0 6
Richard White 122221022x 14
No one was undefeated. Steve Kelly won the decisive game over Joe Margolin in the last round with a nice bridge ending.

Re: District 1 tournament
Al's a tough customer. I drew with him in the first round and it was nice to get that out of the way early. Other photos here

You probably need to create a snapfish account to view these but it's free.
Elvira Fogel (friend of the Margolin's and the late Iser Kuperman and an expert at the Russian game) is writing an article for an online journal and I'll post a link when I hear from her. It will probably be in Russian.
