That is such a pity Tommy as I was looking forward to watching some great games. Oh well, never mind, I will continue watching the other games and learning from them.

Tommy,
Are you proposing that Beckwith was conned himself, or was in on the scam...? The thread was started by Richard...it appeared that Nick accepted the challenge.....
Is it possible that this whole thing was nothing more than a work to prove the vulnerability of Online promotion and/or matches...?
IS THERE A SCAM WITHIN THE SCAM......wrapped around another scam ??
Wow,,,,,,,I just blew my own mind.....
I was hoping the whole thing was on the up and up......
but, now...I am wondering...

I felt the original post had more than a degree of verisimilitude to it Tommy. But you are right of course. Such a pity.

Regardless of whether or not this was truly a "scam", "work" or "fix"......or whatever anyone wants to call it, It has proved at least one thing ......
That an "online" match over the internet can generate some attention and interest !!
I myself, was looking forward to watching this take place...and, I know two others (who were not commenting on the subject here on the Forum) who were looking forward to seeing it take place, and where planning to go to Kurnik to watch some, if not all of the games be played out.
And, just as they , I am disappointed that it did not happen........ :( :( :(

I still believe it is an area that should be explored...........

Jay H, I believe Zambian guy was a fraud, as he played 2 games at kurnik against an 1100 and lost. For those disappointed, I have attached a link for 2 1 minute games I played rated about a half hour ago. If you want an analysis, there is a brief description of the "quick annotations" in the video description. Please enjoy, it is short and corrupted with my teenage style music :]
