Hello Michael:

I was up that way last Thursday with my favorite daughter for the Browns game and I stopped and reserved a single bed for myself. Mr. Alex and Dr. B can both attest how much I snore !!

Looking forward to seeing you this coming week-end :-)

Good that we might get to play each other again. You have always been a challenge. You are one of the few that can get me off p.p. and what I know faster than anyone. Alan your "spirit of the game" is certainly a challenge for me. It is not a big deal if I dont get a roommate but thought I could use some company.

O.k. Alan. That sounds great to me! I will take you up on your offer. I will be there around 9pm. Clint just sent me some more new pens and pencils. That look great! His website is internationalcraftsmen.com and checker players can have the pens for $25.00. I will bring them to this tourney.

I am glad I was able this year to defend again my respectable title of OH State Champion.

This year the tournament scenario was different. I was unable to win round against my major competitors and strong players - Richard Beckwith and Michael Holmes, but I was more successful with rest. Richard won one game over Michael perhaps due to his super aggressive and not a safe play. Alan Millhone missed a win with Richard but finished overall 4th - his best performance (yet!) in OH tournaments.

At opening ceremony Louis Coiwe received a lot of special gifts and recognition, including my booklet with all 59 games which I played with Louis starting OH State 1996 in Massilon.

First price money were more than enough ($200) to cover expances, and John Acker was very kind as roommate

Many thanks to all contributors (I hope Richard will put a report here or in email), Richard as "unchanged director" of OH tournaments for many years and Steve Holliday for his fine referee work.

Games will be putted later under GAME section - I hope this time more players join with me and support my efforts to free this forum from all "promotional garbage & provoke posts" and make forum more professional and enjoyable.

Greetings Alex Moiseyev:

First of all, please allow me to congratulate you on your most recent tournament victory.

Next, I feel compelled to take exception to your statement above.

This is an argument we have discussed before.

Yet, I feel that I must give you my frank and honest feedback.

I do not regard honest, sincere, and constructive efforts to promote the game of Checkers on this forum as "garbage."

Referring to such efforts as "garbage" on this forum is an insult to those who do wish to promote the game of Checkers on this forum.

Your statement, which I have quoted above, has the undesired effect of reducing your post to what you call a "provoke post", which you so roundly condemn.

As stated numerous times before, I am in favor of constructive efforts to promote the game of Checkers on this forum.

Therefore, when you verbally demean such effots as "garbage", I feel personally insulted and "provoked."

I hope you give some serious thought to the above.

Very Sincerely,

Dennis Cayton
