Just a question for Alan. Are there officials going to Ireland for the qualifier. If so, who are the officials and does the American Checker Federation pay their way over? regards Jan Mortimer

Hello Jan:

The American Checker Federation is a dues paid member of the WCDF thus we can send two players to the World Qualifier. Other than that the ACF has no other authority there.

The WCDF has their own officials that will govern and oversee the qualifier.

Hope I have answered your question ?

The two players from the ACF will pay their own way to get to the WQ or get contributions from donations.

On another note I don't see any player going from South Africa ? There are several top players in that country and sad if not one gets to attend again this year. Lubabalo Kondlo had his air and room, meals paid for last year and because of not getting his visa (through no fault of his) he did not get to attend.

Sincerely:
Alan Millhone, President

Hello Jan:

When the Checker/Draughts documentary; KING ME is completed you will see first hand the living conditions Lubabalo faces every day.

With no jobs in his area he exists with basically no resources . Lubabalo was a guest in my Belpre home for two weeks and he is most welcome anytime :-) We exchange emails when he has internet access .

Sincerely:
Alan Millhone, President
