Not Tommy's fault that my name was not mentioned in the list as he naturally assumed I was not going to play given certain comments I have made. Although my name is given in the first list I felt that there were at least ten Welsh players more worthy of a place. I understand now from one of Tommy's posts that only two can represent Wales and, in order to be completely fair, I will contact the top Welsh players to see whether one of them will join John Morgan.
If I cannot get an assurance from one other Welsh player to join John then I will play. I trust this clears up the matter :)
It is my sincere hope that either Dafydd Roberts or Terry Thomas will join John Morgan, and I say this will all the respect due other Welsh players.
Thank you Tommy for your kind words and indeed for all the information you present here. It is much appreciated.

Well Tommy, I will do my utmost to ensure that Wales is represented by two players. I am hopeful that our top player, Dafydd Roberts, will agree to play. If my crossboard ability was one tenth as good as Dafydd’s I would agree to play with John Morgan. But alas it is far from it I regret to say. Also, am becoming an old, frail and withered little man now and am losing my concentration to play checkers even at the lowest level. These days I can hardly spot a two for one, leave alone play in such an important event as the qualifiers!
A little birdie tells me that Anthony Rose will be playing with Tony Boyle for England, so good news there.
I will keep you posted if I hear any news from the Welsh players :)

Well fair play to you Lindus,i hope Dafydd Roberts can fill your shoes in the Qualifier. He is a very experienced player indeed. And Anthony Rose will accompany Tony Boyle for England as you say.But we re still looking forward to have you playing in the Irish Open regardless. It promises to be a top class tournament with a real mix of over-seas players coming b/c of the two -for -the price-of -one to coin a phrase.

Im also hoping a few of the Irish Ladies will turn out for the Ladies QT,but im not privy to who has been approached or selected as yet.It would be a shame if we didnt have as the Ty is here in Ireland.I will be encouraging our only lady in North West circles Sioban McGee altho she s not played in a while, she might give Jan and Kim a run for their money if she is to be pursuaded.

Thanks, Lindus !

WOW - star collection of names. This is probably the strongest 3-moves QT turn I've seen since WCDF started running them in 2004. Only Beijing 2008 can be compared.

Lindus, I also glad to see your name on thsi list and finally you came to arena ! Last name Edwards is well known to checkers fraternity and you can prove this once again.

As more strongest players as better and makes the whole scenario very intriguing and less predictable.

Good luck to everyone ! Only best of the best could earn 2,000 EURO
