I believe it's a 24 game match, so there's 1 more day. At least according to the announcement on this site

and Alan's comment at the end here indicates that as wellThe World Title GAYP Match will be held October 4th - 9th , 2010 in Rodeway Inn, Medina, OH . The Match is between Ron King (Barbados, champion) and Richard Beckwith (USA, challenger), 24 games. Referee is Alan Millhone.

Oops. Sorry about that.
Don't know why I thought it was over. Whose disease do I have?

Yeah ... for better or worse - 4 more games to go.
Today Richard missed very strong continuation which leads to promising bridge ending and extremely uncomfortable play for Ron. Though no scientific win, but obviously alot of practical chances.

Oopps.
I had a premature congratulation.
That was my first in almost 42 years.
So I have to take back all congratulations.
Sorry Ron, sorry Rich.

Re: World Title Match : Medina,Ohio
Whats wrong with drawn matches ? Ron King played 2 drawn GAYP matches: with Derek Oldbury in 1992 (?) 5-5-14 and myself in 2000, 3-3-18. Each drawn match had a huge number of bloody games.Patrick Parker wrote:too bad there is no sudden death for drawn matches

Re: World Title Match : Medina,Ohio
Score even after 22 games ! Richard Beckwith had red pieces and in SDC won the game. Game 22 lasted 4 hours.
Two games to go. After 22 games we have 2 bloody games, one missing win and one missing strong play - not bad at all for GAYP event. Stay on for more news.

Re: World Title Match : Medina,Ohio
Business as usual in World Title Matches - 1 hour for every 24 moves to each player. Restrictions: 3 times repeated position rule and 40-moves rule.Jason Solan wrote:anyone know the time limit they're using?
No news from Alan regarding Game23 more than 2 hours. Perhaps they went for lunch.
