The "Travel Fund" donation used to let you type in additional details so you could specify who or what it was to go for. It doesn't seem to do that anymore. I'll look into that when I get home from work today.

...... nor in financial straits comparable to Lubabalo, I don't think it's necessary to have an official fund for him. We already have players in the area who could give him a ride to events, help with hotel costs and meals, etc, without involving the ACF directly.

What if Vern wants to play in a tournament in South Africa.......

Hi Jay, I delt with this guy before let me. John, Kondlo has hard times yes but other players have hard times also. I think in a time of need we think of all people not just the ones that live in South Africa. So who are you to decide what people should do or what is right to do. Besides if Kondlo sucked at checkers I dont think this will even be a topic. Im not going to tell all of Laverns business but he is in the same boat as Kondlo and basically what is the diffrence? John, I think you got my message wrong. First off I dont care if people help Kondlo or not. Thats the right they have to make that choice. You can fund all of the African males over that is your right your money etc. And if we care so much about each other as a family then why not help someone that is in the same fix who cares if one person is a better player then another. My point is you should not fly off and jump right into something specially when its public opin. How about you support South Africa and let other people support who they want to? Billy

The point is that Lubabalo Kondlo is special because he has the potential to be a world champion some day.

Billy, I am with you. Lubabalo is potential, true, but we also have many potential and pre-potential here in America. Without serious permanent sponsors It is impossible to help everyone in the world! Our sources are very limited but if we have few extra bucks, I would certainly invest them into American players - this is our future.

If we have an opportunity to collect $2,000-$2,500, that will be more than enough to cover 75%-100% expances for 4-5 outstanding young players from Kurnik to travel to OKC.

This may become a real boom among other Kurnik players - is that what we wanted and looking for ??

I think Fredo is much more potential to become a 3-moves world champion than Lubabalo. And Nick indeed maybe our GAYP American hope ... who knows ???

I have decided to wait a year or two before bidding for OKC. Want non-profit status to be solid for ACF so I hopefully do a good job on sponsorships.

Alex, I totally agree with you I just didnt have the guts to actually come out and say it. I think your poor American players should come first in a federation that calls itself " The American Checker Federation". Not saying its not good to help people nothing against this guy and I do feel for people in need but wait in line if we can get to you we will. Im also not saying lets help everyone to do what they want. I used a friend I known first hand for about 3 years. And known his situation which I could not get more into detail about. Im not even really expecting hands across America im just saying keep a open mind about other people also. I noticed people say he is good at checkers he could be world champ etc. First off I dont believe he could be world champ not unless all your top rated masters die at the same time. And second why just people that are good at checkers to help with donations what about the sake of humanity. People sound like they care for Kondlo but if he sucked at checkers nobody would want to help him then? With a family like that no wonder the Federation is dieing out. Anyways Alan has to get him his passport got donations rolling in and he just sits and waits for his first class ticket but lets not forget he paid his ACF dues. Billy

Just to emphasize something here, the ACF is not attempting to pay any of its money to Mr. Kondlo. The ACF is making it easier for Mr. Kondlo's friends and fans to help him. The ACF also makes it easy for you to donate to any other player. I'm a fan of Mr. Kondlo, and I think our GAYP ty. will benefit greatly from his wonderful checker play. I would like to give money to other players, stars and otherwise, but I'm sorry that I only have a small amount of money.
