Re: New Ratings July 2010
This report only covers events from Jan. to June 2010. District 9 2009 was already calculated (see WCDF report 6 (Jan. 2010) on WCDF page of ACF site). D-9 2010 won't be included (yet) for a "July 2010" report.

Re: New Ratings July 2010
Dr. Beckwith,
I have emailed, those who I thought were the proper parties, concering Justin's rating.
He once again is not listed. It has been a thorn to him for some time. He always asks me if his rating is up yet. He is rated 1500 or so by the ACF and it no doubt adds to his lack of desire to play. Do you have any ideas? Where can I find if the 2010 Tenn open was include in this rating?? Perhaps that is the reason.
Thanks,
Wayne

Re: New Ratings July 2010
Wayne,
I don't have all the answers, since I don't do the WCDF processing. But page "2" (which is really the 4th page) of Shane's report indicates 2010 TN was included. p. "4" indicates Justin achieved a 1st "candidate master" norm for this event with an average rating of 2301. However, I'm not sure why he doesn't appear in full list. J.R. mentioned this happened to a couple other newcomers in 2009. It's possible a minimum number of rounds needs played to be listed (or else rating is not highly reliable), but I'm not sure. Unless Ingo knows, these are questions I am compiling to ask Igor when I submit info for second half of 2010. Also, ACF ratings are further behind due to Dave Butler's departure as ratings processor. Patrick Parker got most of 2008 done since.

Re: New Ratings July 2010
Eric,
I see what you say.....rating (and RD value) are unchanged, even though event was listed as being rated, which makes me suspicious (or else an odd coincidence that both numbers were unchanged). Igor's last report does not display his "last event played" column to confirm -- so you raise another question for my list. Also, rating change is not based on your game score (which I agree was impressive here), but on how you fared against your opponents compared to their rating.

Re: New Ratings July 2010
I am wondering if perhaps this report is not complete yet. I don't seem to be able to find the report for this rating. The last report I find is for jan 2010. Do you have an url that I could get to that report showing Justin's rating ect? I want to show him so as to maybe get him interested again in checkers.
Thanks
Wayne
P.S. I appreciate all the work done and do not want to seem complaining. I wish I had more time as I wanted to try and help Patrick with ACF ratings but I am overloaded presently.
Thanks

Re: New Ratings July 2010
I understand rating would not change if the opponents were very low... at the time of the tournament Ray Dionisio rating for 2250 and Bob Murr was 1800's or 1900's, I went 2-0-2 vs both of them and 2-0 vs John Cardie who was a lot lower so it wouldn't effect rating much. I do understand how rating works. We are currently working on a web based project that will allow you to drop a cross table onto my site and it will auto calculate ratings to a sql database.... so I'll take ACF sql database with ratings and should be able to catch up current ratings from January 2008 to current in about 15 minutes. Ratings can be updated after each tournament easily!!!! We wont have to rely on WCDF ratings being accurate anymore. Dont know how long it will take to complete but it shouldn't be too long... trying to finish the checkers site first.... which only has 2 bugs to be fixed and is all done..... can probly add support for WCDF as well if Igor is interested Would just have to be Glicko rating system as opposed to Elo like we have discussed to be used for ACF. I will have a login for this that only certain people will be allowed access to physically change ratings on an official level. I will probably add a seperate area for people who just want to calculate ratings for fun. I think this will take the b/s out of all these rating problems.... You all need to thank my coder Vadim for all this work he is doing for checkers.... I know I appreciate all of his work!!!

Re: New Ratings July 2010
Eric.....I see Bob Murr and John Cardie's ratings were also unchanged, so I think that answers what happened (some sort of processing oversight). I checked my list of tables that were submitted, and the event and player IDs were included.
Wayne --- I see what you say about not finding the full report. The WCDF site just shows the updated A-list only. Send me your e-mail (to beckwith_r@ricerca.com) and I can send you Shane's complete WORD file, which also lists the rated events, norms, and B-list. I'll also give report to Jason to post on ACF site.
